The NFL season begins tonight!

Ravens and BroncosWe’ve already had the excitement of the start of college football, as well as a few thrills from the NFL Preseason over the last few weeks. Tonight is when it finally starts to matter as the 2013 NFL season officially kicks off!

The defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens return to where one of the most thrilling playoff finishes in recent years happened, with the Denver Broncos aiming to avenge the heartbreaking loss that shattered their own Super Bowl dreams a year ago. Fans of both teams will remember it forever, and the emotions attached to it very drastically depending on which colors you bear. If Denver had gotten just one more first down late in the fourth quarter, they win the game and advance to the AFC Championship Game. But the Baltimore defense held strong, giving the Ravens’ offense one last desperation drive.

The end result of that drive came quickly with Joe Flacco’s 70-yard bomb to Jacoby Jones for the game-tying touchdown. The Ravens went on to win by a field goal in a second overtime of one of the most thrilling playoff games you’ll see.

Now as the 2013 season opens, the Ravens have seen massive changes to their roster which many believe have them on the outside looking in among Super Bowl contenders this season. On the other side, the Broncos are one of the favorites to represent the AFC in this year’s Super Bowl. Now all that’s left is to prove it by knocking off the defending champs on day one of the season.

It all begins at 5:30 p.m. Pacific time, so get to The Saloon early and grab your seat for the start of yet another glorious football season!
