March Madness

Florida BasketballIt’s that time of the year once again. When hundreds of teams all across the country go out on the hardwood and play the hardest that they have all year so that they can earn a chance in the big dance! Selection Sunday is now just two weeks away and schools are putting in their final bids to earn their way into the biggest tournament in all of college basketball. 68 teams will enter the field, but only 1 will emerge as National Champion.

Joe Lunardi of ESPN has released his Bracketology and with it, the predicted No. 1 seeds of the four different regions. These four No. 1 seeds are the favorites in their respective regions. As of today, the West Region, based in Anaheim, California has Arizona as the number one seed. The Arizona Wildcats this year are an impressive 27-2 in the Pac-12 Conference.

In the South Region, which is based out of Memphis, features the University of Florida Gators. The Gators sit atop the polls as the number one team in the entire country as of this week. Florida, at 27-2, will finish out the year against No. 25 Kentucky in a classic SEC clash as both are fighting for their spots in the big dance. In the East Region, the only undefeated team that still stands in the nation sits at the projected No. 1 seed, the Wichita State Shockers sit ready to take on the competition out in Indianapolis. And finally, back East and based in New York, the Kansas Jayhawks are set to take the stage. Kansas stands now with a 22-7 record ready to take on the rest of the East region, having a number of impressive wins under their belt this season.
