Playoff Race Heats Up

lebronThis year’s NBA Playoffs has been nothing short of exciting with plenty of dramatic, close games that have been aplenty. And the second round, though playing closer to the expected results according to the seeding, has been just as exciting. All of the higher seeded teams currently hold each respective series lead, with the exception of the Los Angeles Clippers and the Oklahoma City Thunder knotted up at 2 games a piece.

In the rest of the league, the Miami Heat have a current 2 to 1 series lead, with game 4 tonight trying to earning a potential clinching game while the Brooklyn Nets look to tie things up. In the season series, the Brooklyn Nets were able to take all 4 of their games against the defending world champs, but this series has not played out as favorably for them.

Also in the East, the Indiana Pacers are playing much better basketball currently leading 3-1 over John Wall and the Washington Wizards. After barely squeaking by the No. 8 seeded Golden State Warriors, the Indiana Pacers will soon be playing for their chance to clinch a spot in the Conference Finals.

Out West, the series are playing out differently. With a 3-0 series lead, the San Antonio Spurs will play tonight for their chance to sweep the Portland Trail Blazers. The veteran Spurs, claiming the best record in all of the NBA, appear to be all business against the youth and superstar play of the Blazers. They will hope to be able to have a long rest prior to playing the winner of the other series out west, which appears to be locked up in a close series.

The other series, as mentioned earlier, is the only current series tie in the entire second round. The Los Angeles Clippers and the Oklahoma City Thunder are tied up at a 2-2 series score. With a whole slew of superstars making their appearance in the series, it is a star-studded series for sure. Players like Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook on the OKC Thunder, and players like Blake Griffin and Chris Paul just to name a few, there is plenty of excitement to go around.

All these different series come to a close here soon as teams continue to fight their way, trying to earn a spot in the 2014 NBA Finals. Be sure to join with us and cheer on your team as they fight their way forward!
