There are countless great ways to prepare a steak. That’s a major part of what makes it so loved as an entrée item; there’s no absolute way to perfect a steak. With all kinds of cuts, cooking times, seasonings, marinades, and toppings, a steak can be darn near whatever you want it to be!

But here at Cool Hand Luke’s, we’re not about to back down from trying to get as close to perfection as possible. It might be an unattainable goal with steak, but that doesn’t mean we still can’t knock some socks off. (more…)

Calamari Strips to Start

Calimari Strips

We  have a seafood option available on our appetizer menu that will add a tasty and healthy start to your meal with our Calamari Strips.

This appetizer is started off by breading the calamari in panko bread crumbs, a flaky variety of bread crumb that is popular in fried Japanese cuisine. Then we pan sear the strips to the perfect temperature and top them off with our garlic Parmesan butter.

On top of having a delicious appetizer, calamari is a surprising healthy food option. On top of being rich in protein, calamari also provides decent amounts of calcium, zinc, vitamin B12, and vitamin C.

But most importantly, it’ll give you a great start to your meal. That alone makes them worthwhile, and then if you factor in the additional health benefits, this is a can’t lose option!

ortiz

Last night in the Saloon we watched Jon Lester win his second game in this World Series.  In both games he has out pitched Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright while only allowing one run in 15 2/3 innings.  Usually that would garner him some serious consideration for World Series MVP, but if you’ve been watching you know that’s not in the cards for Lester this time around.

David Ortiz’s cartoonish numbers are the reason that Lester won’t win MVP.  Ortiz is hitting a white hot .733 after going 3-for-4 in the Red Sox’s 3-1 victory in Monday’s, virtually assuring him the award.  So come into the Saloon tomorrow night grab a great meal and see if Ortiz can hoist the World Series trophy and also be named MVP in the process.

Monday Night Football

football

Are you coming into the Saloon to watch the game tonight? How about the debut of Josh Freeman, the Vikings’ newly acquired quarterback who can steal away the starting job for good with a promising showing against Big Blue.

The giants are winless and are going to start Peyton Hillis tonight and in the nfl you never know right?

This could be a fireworks show. The Giants’ defense has bled yardage and points all season, and Freeman has a knack for pushing the ball downfield. We haven’t seen much from Greg Jennings this season, but Freeman’s big arm could benefit the veteran receiver along with rookie Cordarrelle Patterson. Besides, New York’s secondary is a mess. Cornerback Prince Amukamara has his moments, but quarterbacks have feasted on Terrell Thomas. (more…)

colts

If you were wondering how well a Chuck Pagano coached team would fair before the season, you probably don’t have that question anymore.  In the last three weeks the Colts have shown that they are a team to be reckoned with in the AFC South.  They are definitely a team on the rise with a young budding superstar at quarterback in Andrew Luck.

Tonight the Indianapolis Colts (4-1) face off on ”Monday Night Football”  with the San Diego Chargers(2-3). The two victories over the Colts have had over the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks  have opened some eyes around the NFL. They’ve revealed a Pagano-led squad with the ability to grind down opponents on both sides of the ball.

The Chargers shouldn’t be taken lightly they are frisky bunch under new coach Mike McCoy, but can they hang with the ascendant Colts?
